connected with the Club.
Club chairman Roy Ferguson said, "Iveagh Movie Studios has a
reputation for providing good, quality entertainment and that's just

Tommy Kincaid believes that the deal is good for everyone connected
with the club. "The Iveagh Movie Studios sponsorship gives everyone
a lift. The shirt logo looks impressive and I know that the deal
certainly is! If the board keep doing this sort of business in the
boardroom, and the team keeps doing their work on the park, then we'll
all be in the 'big picture' next April!"
Giles Conlon, centre manager of Iveagh Movie Studios said, “We are
delighted to be the corporate sponsor of Glenavon Football Club. Being a
new company we are excited at the prospect of being in partnership with
such a long established football club and hopefully this relationship
will lead to every success both on and off the field. We at Iveagh Movie
Studios would like to wish the management and players all the best for
this season in their push for promotion.” www.iveagh.com.
UNBEATEN
RUN ENDS - AND HOW!
Glenavon 1-6 Banbridge Town
Glenavon crashed out of the Bob Radcliffe Cup as a run of ten
competitive matches unbeaten came to a dramatic end at Mourneview Park
this afternoon. After taking an early lead through a great finish by
Gareth Walsh, Glenavon slipped behind to three goals inside a three
minute spell around the half hour mark.
The first of these was an excellent goal by Town striker Johnny Kerr
after diminutive winger Simon O'Hare played in a great left wing cross.
Glenavon then pressed the self-destruct button and gave away two sloppy
goals by giving the ball way just outside their own 18 yard area. Kerr
with his second and McPherson were the two goal scorers.
In the second half Wilton saved efforts from Murray and Topley before
O'Hare's brilliant 55th minute free kick hit the top corner of the
Glenavon goal. Quinn with a header and a super solo effort from Irwin
completed a miserable day for the home side.

16th October: ANOTHER
LEAGUE DRAW
Ballinamallard Utd 1-1 Glenavon
Glenavon had to settle for a 1-1 draw for the second successive
League game when they travelled to Ballinamallard on Saturday.
Only Gareth Walsh will know how he failed to score when he was
through with only the keeper to beat in the 29th minute. As everyone
else stopped, expecting an offside flag that never came, Walsh tried to
take the ball around the keeper rather than simply slotting it past him
and the chance was lost.
The home side took the lead just before half time when O'Brien
shrugged off a challenge from McAlinden and unleashed a fierce shot that
flew into the top corner, giving McDonald no chance.
A close-range Gary Clifford header in the 69th minute drew the
visitors level after Walsh hit a shot into the ground and it bounced up
nicely for Clifford.

12th October: BLUES
REACH FINAL
Glenavon
3-0 Brantwood
Glenavon
progressed to the Final of the Daily Mirror Trophy on Tuesday night
with a three nil win over Brantwood. The opening goal was scored by
James McDonagh after 36 minutes and Gareth Walsh added a double in the
second half after coming on for Gerard McMahon. McMahon, making his
first start since recovering from his horrific leg injury, set up the
first goal when he headed Topley's free kick back across goal and
McDonagh, with his back to goal, flicked the ball over the keeper.
Walsh's first goal was a thumping strike that gave Brantwood keeper
Neil Smith no chance and his second was a tap in after Smith spilled
Topley's 20 yard free kick from the centre of the 'D'. That takes Gareth
on to four goals and he's now Glenavon's leading scorer this season.

HAVE NEW CORPORATE SPONSORS
Glenavon Commercial Director, Ian McCollum has announced a new
Corporate Sponsor for the club. Iveagh Movie Studios, Banbridge
has agreed a generous deal with an option for extension beyond the first
year.
Iveagh Movie Studios comprises a four-screen cinema and live theatre
venue, complemented by the Simply Italian restaurant. Iveagh Movie
Studios can be found on the web at www.iveagh.com.
“This is a fantastic deal for the club”, said Ian, “and one
which I have been negotiating for some time. I am delighted to enlist
such a prestigious and forward thinking company. Iveagh Movie Studios
has shown confidence in the club and I am sure that manager Tommy
Kincaid will respond with his team to see us return to the Premier
Division next season. This deal of course allows Iveagh Studios to

will no doubt benefit both parties!”
VICE
CHAIRMAN RESIGNS
It is with regret that Glenavon Football Club announces the
resignation of Vice Chairman, Eddie Drury, MBE. Eddie has reluctantly
decided to step down for personal reasons.
Eddie is a popular figure around Mourneview Park and has worked
tirelessly for the club in almost every capacity. He has served as Vice
Chairman since September 2003.
The Board of Directors would like to thank Eddie for all he has done
to promote the club over many years. Chairman Roy Ferguson said, “I
have long been an admirer of Eddie’s enthusiasm for the club and the
game. Having him work alongside me took a great deal of the burden
directly off me. I’ll miss that close working relationship but fully
appreciate and respect his reasons for leaving.”
