ACES HIGH!

Although the scheme actually started a couple of weeks ago, the official launch of the Glenavon Soccer Aces, took place last Friday night (4th April) at Mourneview Park. Around 170 boys and girls in the 4-12 age group were on the hallowed turf of the Mourneview pitch to continue with the excellent training provided by Evo's Soccer Skills and coaches from Glenavon's Academy and first team star Gerard McMahon.

Glenavon Chairman Adrian Teer was delighted with the huge turnout of kids and their parents "This is a very important initiative by Glenavon. We want to make everyone in the community feel welcome here and that they are a part of the Club and I'm delighted to see so many young boys and girls from all sides of the community here tonight.

"The Club hopes the Glenavon Aces scheme will help stimulate an interest in local football for these youngsters, through playing and, hopefully, coming along to watch Glenavon matches with their mums and dads. Who knows, some of the young players here tonight could some day be lining up for the first team!"
