POST-MATCH REACTION

Glenavon 1-6 Banbridge Town

TK reflects on today's game:

"After today’s result I’m hurt and sore. Devastated! Things started so brightly for us. We looked really good and went ahead through a great goal. At that stage we were controlling the game and I couldn’t see anything but a comfortable Glenavon win. The boys were all here early today for a squad photograph and there was a good atmosphere. They were buzzing. We went 1- 0 up and everything was hunky-dory. And then….bang, bang, bang!

"You have to give Banbridge credit. They didn’t beat us with six lucky breakaways. They deserved to beat us by that margin. Defensively today we were shocking. We didn’t make them work for their first three goals and then it was a struggle.

"As manager of this club I take full responsibility for the defeat. I’m a proud man and this result hurts. We’ve been beaten once in eleven competitive games and reached a cup final and yet, after today, I have to question myself. If we’d been beaten by one or two goals then you say to yourself, “It’s one of those days!” – but six? Six just doesn’t add up to me.

"I need a wee bit of time to consider where I am going with this club. I’ll re-focus over the weekend on what our real aim is, get back to planning, and be ready for training next Tuesday night. We still have a job to do."
