Glenavon has today signed Greenock Morton striker Kevin Kelbie on a two year deal. Glenavon Chairman Adrian Teer travelled to Glasgow to finalise the deal with the 26 year old former Ballymena United striker. Manager Marty Quinn is delighted to have the proven goal-scorer on board, “Kevin has proven what he can do in the Irish League and he’s keen to get back playing on a regular basis. He’s a good player and comes with a great attitude and he’ll be a good character in the dressing room and on the pitch. I want to thank the Chairman and the Board for their hard work in bringing Kevin to the Club.”
Kelbie was leading goal-scorer for the Sky Blues in four out of his five seasons at Warden Street, scoring 56 goals in 136 appearances.
Marty is still talking to other players and confirmed that midfield is certainly an area he is working on. He also intends giving squad numbers to a number of the promising young players who have impressed last season including Mark Carson, Cameron Grieve and Fra Brennan.
