'Two points dropped' - that was Jim Brown's reaction after a game in which 33 year old keeper Davy O'Hare produced a match saving second half performance for the home side. In a quiet first half Coleraine probably shaded it with Glenavon not really testing the home side's keeper. For Coleraine, Boyce took the ball past several Glenavon players but his finish failed to hit the target and McDonald turned Ferry's low shot round the post. McAlinden got his head to two free kicks from Montgomery but one went straight to O'Hare and other flew over the bar.

Former Coleraine player, Kieran O'Connor, chases a through ball

It was a totally different story in the second period with Glenavon providing the fireworks on Bonfire night and O'Hare pulling off a string of fine saves to deny the visitors what would have been a deserved victory. In the 55th minute, though, he should have been made to pay when he came to the edge of his area to punch a long ball from Montgomery, clattering McMahon in the process. With the ball only dropping a few yards and landing at the feet of Black, the Glenavon defender sent his shot well over the bar with O'Hare stranded on the 18 yard line.

Shea Campbell (left) was one of several Glenavon players who found home keeper Davy O'Hare in unbeatable form.

Coleraine's best effort of the second half was a header by Johnston which McDonald turned around the post in the 68th minute.

O'Hare made an unbelievable save to deny Gawley, flinging himself across his goal line after Verner skipped past the challenge of McLaughlin and cut the ball back from the bye line. With the rebound falling to Campbell in a crowded box, his pass picked out Gawley again but this time the youngster's shot deflected off a defender for a corner. The veteran keeper also turned away efforts by Verner and a Montgomery free kick and a 90th minute effort by Campbell as he beat the offside trap.
