A good all-round performance and a 6-0 win on Saturday for Glenavon’s U20s team that included goalkeeper James Taylor making a comeback after injury.

The game started with Glenavon on top with Jenkins and Robinson missing a couple of chances early on. The first goal arrived in the 20th minute, good work by Robinson resulted in Patton powering a header into top corner.

The second goal arrived in the 39th minute after intense pressure from Glenavon. Good work by O’Mahony and a delightful cross gave Robinson the simple task of finishing it off to go into half-time 2-0 ahead.

Glenavon came out in the second half very lively and the third goal soon arrived. Young O’Mahony raced down the right, then a delightful pass by Patton was smashed into the bottom corner by the ever alert Jenkins.

The back four dealt well with everything that Coleraine threw at them with Taylor pulling off a few great reflex saves. Norton and Kelly gave a great performance in central midfield with both unlucky with long range shots. The 4th goal soon arrived from Robinson thanks to a slight deflection.

McIvor and Lucas replaced Harland and Jenkins in the 70th minute and slotted in with no problem at all.

The fifth goal came in the 73rd minute and what a goal it was! It was a culmination or 7 or 8 passes and the energetic Norton playing a one-two with Patton resulting in Norton hammering into roof of the net from just inside the box.

The sixth and final goal came in the 84th minute, a corner by Patton was headed home by Neill.
