UPDATE (1:30 pm) We’ve just been informed that, following his pre match inspection, the referee has decided that the pitch at Ferney Park is unplayable due to it being frozen underneath. Consequently today’s game is OFF

Glenavon travels to Ferney Park on Saturday for Matchday 18 in the Danske Bank Premiership, hoping to take all three points against Ballinamallard United. In the reverse fixture back in September the Mallards left Mourneview with all the points with Adam Lecky netting a stoppage time penalty after James McGrath had earlier saved a Paddy McCourt spot kick. It was a tough result to take, Glenavon having dominated for most of the game, with 15 corners to the visitors’ one and having several efforts cleared off the line. Gary Hamilton will be looking for a more clinical end product against a side that has lost it’s last seven games in all competitions.

“We’ll have to be right on our game and put in the sort of performances that we have been doing. We dominated the last game with them but if you don’t take your chances it can come back to bite you. We missed a penalty and they scored one when it was too late to do anything about it. That’s football. We’ll be going there to give a good account of ourselves and hopefully this time the chances will go in,” Gary told us.

James Singleton is suspended following his dismissal for two yellow cards last Saturday. Andrew Doyle is out after picking up a knee injury in training this week but Simon Kelly comes back into the squad after missing the last four games with a hamstring strain.
