Cliftonville pay their second visit of the season to Mourneview Park tomorrow to take on Glenavon in the Danske Bank Premiership, both sides having progressed to Round 6 of the Irish Cup last Saturday, as both sides required extra time to see off Warrenpoint Town and Carrick Rangers, respectively.

On their last visit the Reds were defeated 3-1, Glenavon easing past a side that was still bedding in several new players and since then Barry Gray has found a system that suits his talented strike force. Following that game back in September Cliftonville went on to win 11 out of the next 12 league fixtures, only losing to then leaders Coleraine. Over the festive period back-to-back defeats by Linfield and Crusaders and a 0-0 draw with Coleraine have seen Gray’s side slip to 5th place, four points behind the third-placed Lurgan Blues. With both sides aiming to secure a place in Europe, there’s a lot riding on tomorrow’s game.
