With the visitors leading 2-0 and the high winds of Storm Eleanor showing no signs of easing, the strain was starting to take its toll on parts of the home stand. Referee Lee Tavinder was left with no choice but to abandon tonight’s game due to concerns over the safety of both fans and players as well as conditions becoming unplayable.

The returning Joel Cooper had earlier fired Glenavon into a 2-0 lead before half time. His first came after a persistent run and finish, while the second was a neat close range finish after Substitute McGrory’s cross into the box.

With only 51 minutes played the match result is void. The game will be rearranged in due course.

Safe journey home to players, officials and fans of both sides.
